Ubisoft is completely overhauling the way "Rainbow Six Siege" players unlock the latest operators; after five years of $30 annual passes that gave access to operators the day they appeared, Ubi is shifting its emphasis to seasonal battle passes. The annual pass has been officially discontinued (2015-2020, rest in peace).
The new initiative will begin with the upcoming Crimson Heist season, where anyone who purchases the premium tier of the Battle Pass for $10 will unlock the new Argentine attacker, Flores. After a two-week exclusivity period on the Battle Pass, Flores will be available for the regular 25,000 renown or 600 R6 credits ($5).
If, like me, you want access to the new op on the day it is released, the new annual price is $40 (four passes are available throughout the year). Of course, for $10 it also comes with the possibility of unlocking all the other cosmetics and boosters included in the pass, so your dollars technically go further; you also get a bundle of $5 worth of R6 credits with the pass, so if you're a dedicated person, you can get a discount on your next pass! There are.
If you're already a fan of Siege's Battle Pass, this should be good news. If you're not interested in weapon skins and can bear to wait a few weeks, you can still unlock Flores at Renown as before.
Ubisoft had a lot to say about the future of Siege at today's Crimson Heist reveal. I also tried Flores last week and enjoyed blowing stuff up with his exploding drones.
