Dragon's Dogma 2, despite being a sure thing in action-RPG fun, definitely has its problems: performance nightmares abound on PC, none of the game's microtransactions make much sense (almost everything is available in-game), but still A legitimate reason to stay away from the whole thing.
All of this has led to a dumpster fire of initial performance in Steam's user review system. While actual play through of the game suggests that players' issues will be resolved, general sentiment is mixed, with some players blaming the odd difficulty setting and low-level fish infested roads.
I'm having a great time myself, but who knows; maybe the 40+ hour malaise hasn't hit me yet, or maybe it's simply a matter of taste. Nevertheless, Capcom seems to be at least a little shaken by the backlash. A user survey for Dragon's Dogma 2 has gone live on the web, asking for players' opinions on what they liked and didn't like about the game.
Interestingly, the survey asks where people got their information about "Dragon's Dogma 2," which seems a bit of a dig at the initial reaction to the game's microtransactions. This is not to say that Capcom didn't have its share of failures, but one in two of them looked terrible, and the other was a bad idea.
Nevertheless, you are allowed to fine-tune your feedback in the custom-made "Other" box. One particularly interesting request was "Hey, do you want some DLC? Capcom is known for its terrible launch day microtransactions, but they also tend to sprinkle free content into their games in between major paid DLC.
If "Dragon's Dogma 2" becomes a free DLC release cycle like "Monster Hunter," this could also be a better game years down the road.
