A new patch for "Stardew Valley" adds "new fishing and mining-related stuff.

Will Eric Barone ever stop Stardew Valley? Maybe one day, but as Viggo Mortensen famously said, it's not today: because on this day, Barone also announced that a new patch will be released this week.

The long-awaited 1.6 update for "Stardew Valley" is a massive one, adding new farm types, three new festivals, new late-game content, 8-player multiplayer support, and much more. Despite its sheer size and the excitement it inspired (mayonnaise-filled tankas were freely available), the rollout went very smoothly.

Still, Barone continued to put out small updates to address the most Stardew Valley-like bugs imaginable, like the "creepy face" bear that showed up at the maple syrup event. And just two weeks after the last fix update, he confirmed today that another patch is on the way.

"Another PC patch (1.6.4) is on the way that will fix more bugs and add some goodies," Barone tweeted.

"Should be released sometime next week.

In his usual style, he did not provide a list of what exactly this new patch will fix or add, but did offer some hints. Not much, but something for those who like to fish (or mine) to look forward to.

Despite the almost complete lack of details (let's face it, we're all used to it by now), redditor tarenni summed up the reaction to the news of another patch coming very aptly:

Waiting for the 1.6 patch to arrive on consoles and mobile devices Unfortunately, there is no update yet for those who are waiting: Barone said last week that the 1.6 patch is "in the works and will be released as soon as possible," but that no specific date is known yet. But in good news, he confirmed today that the 1.6.4 patch "will not delay the release of the console."
