The clear and obvious director of the smash-hit video role-playing game Baldur's Gate3, one brave modder by the name of Cerberry, has fixed it, giving the big strange family of characters you build a lot of hugs to each other.
The mod, aptly named Hug, allows your character to hijack the already existing Halsin and Shadowheart hug animations to make the characters hug each other. Once installed, you'll find two new hug actions on your panel that let you hug people. Or control the party members and have them cuddle up. Whatever the way you want to cause a hug, you can do a hug.
Finally, I can hear you thinking, my poor sweet babygirl Astarion can get the hug he desperately needs. You are, of course, ignoring the part where the asterion attacked you and tried to drink your blood, but anything.
The mod works pretty well, with a few notable exceptions: due to how short people like "small" races work, between the size of people, and also because there is nothing associated with the movement, you can see strange facial expressions, etc. It is also going to have clipping and misaligned hugs on uneven surfaces. Basically... Everything you'd expect from a custom animation mod if you've used one before.
So, yes, now you can finally give a hug to the poor Asterion. But I wouldn't give Mintara a hug. You might say to yourself, "A good hug will fix Mintara," but that's wrong.
You can find names hugs very directly on nexusmods. Now, I convince the PCG team to update and put it on the list of the best Baldur's Gate3mod.
