Within less than 1 week of moving the 2-year early access period to full release, Songs of Conquest sold 50 million copies.More importantly, developer Lavapotion has announced big plans for the future, including 4 DLC releases and a "massive expansion" planned for the summer of 2025.
An expansion called Bleach East will add 2 new factions (Vanir and Roots) to Songs of Conquest, adding "a massive single-player campaign that tells a story about how they came to be and how they influence the larger world of Aerbor."
"The desolate East is in the north-east of Patrium, home to descendants from both Arleon and Barya," lead game designer Carl Toftfeld wrote on Steam. "Now hardy settlers who are living their lives to the freedom of their former masters on the desolate East coast. But they are not alone, and we can not wait to share their songs with you."
Unfortunately, they — and you—will have to wait a year for Bleed East to arrive, and that's where the four DLC releases come into play.
"We want to continue to tell the story of the song of conquest at a higher pace than only the expansion of the faction allows," Toftfeld explained. "So, we're introducing what's called Story of Conquest in the form of DLC, and we're releasing it almost every quarter. These stories not only advance the story of the Song of Conquest, but also expand the gameplay through story missions that follow each of the existing factions."
The first story of the Conquest DLC, called Rise Eternal, focuses on the Baron of the Roth Undead faction: An undead scholar named Kastus Maal seeks revenge against Baroness Arleon, who killed him in the Battle of Grey Tho," with his guidance, Rise becomes more powerful than ever."Eternal Rise is planned for release this fall and will also include new artifacts and set bonuses, Most of them will be added to the base game for free and will be available to all players without having to purchase DLC.
Then Essence wakes up and focuses on Arleon, which is expected to come out "around the 12th month" and then a further 2025 based on the Barya and Rana factions scheduled for late 2
That schedule is vague and nothing is carved into stone as far as it goesン While Toftfeld warned that "things change all the time and the timeline can shift back and forth," Lavapotion clearly has big plans for the future: "We just wanted to let you know right away that we plan to support the song of conquest for the next few years.""
