"Total War: Warhammer 3" is apparently still neither Total nor Warhammer, as Creative Assembly continues to update the strategy giant. Last year's roadmap had us hoping for something Slaanesh-themed next, but according to an update shared by a community manager via Discord, "Khorne, Ogre Kingdoms, and Greenskins are taking center stage for this next DLC and it's released later this year."
The Ogre currently lacks mercenary captain Gorfag Maneater, a character who has been in the tabletop game since the 1980s, but we'll leave it to your imagination as to who will represent the other two armies that will round out this expansion. But as Adam Freeland, Total War's community director, once said, "Our current intention is not to create something as large as this.
The bug-fixing updates that typically take place between expansions will continue, and the Discord announcement includes the note that "our patch team will be spending more time on the base game between now and the DLC release to bring fresh ideas to life."
Details.
More information will be available in a message from Senior Game Director Richard Aldridge scheduled for June 26. At the end of the month, update 5.1 will also be available, including the following free Legendary Hero: Karanak the Vengeance Hound, a three-headed daemon dog.
