Fallout 76's latest update, "Skyline Valley," will add an entirely new section of map for players to explore and may add new quests and points of interest to experience. Later this year, however, the "Milepost Zero" update will introduce escort missions with the chance to build new customizable outposts and raise brahmins.

Set in the new Shenandoah National Park location, you will join the Blue Ridge Caravan Corps, which has routes up and down Blue Ridge Drive, to help escort Brahmins carrying important supplies.

I'm actually strangely excited about another escort mission in Fallout 76, as it's a good opportunity for Bethesda to fix the problems that existed in previous missions. The escort mission in "The Most Sensational Game" is slightly overwhelming because it takes place inside the cramped and often confusing Showman's Pier, and there were a few issues with buggy NPCs blocking entrances and exits or simply freezing in one place.

But instead of being stuck inside a building and guiding someone who almost always gets in the way, you're stuck with a slow-moving Brahmin in the wild outside. In typical "Fallout" fashion, however, it won't be entirely smooth sailing, as the mutated cows will have a mind of their own. "There's a lot of typical Fallout humor," said lead producer Bill Lacoste. 'It's something we have to keep in mind at all times. I think it's a great brahmin distraction. But it would be very 'Fallout' if you were escorting something and all of a sudden you turn around and the brahmin is grazing."

There's no pain in an escort mission, which is part of the twisted fun, but one aspect that helps ease the frustration of guiding slow and stubborn brahmins is the chance to customize your own outpost: "Blue Ridge Caravan Company's successful missions unlock your own Caravan outpost," says Creative Director Jon Rush.

Once you have a new location away from the main camp, you can expand it more and more with each successful escort mission. Eventually, we will even be able to host specialized vendors from the far reaches of Fallout 76." "You can unlock a host of vendors who will sell you things you can only get here to decorate your camp, decorate your surroundings, and get brahmin," Rush says." I don't know if you can milk the cows, but let's just say you can."

"There are a lot of opportunities here for people to build something up inside the outpost," says Lacoste.

"It's like building your own house in Skyrim, with all the levels of detail to make it your own place. It's going to be really great.

From what I saw, the outpost looked more like a cave full of knick-knacks and props than an actual house. Who needs a comfortable home when you can be Gollum hiding in the Misty Mountains, scaring the locals with copious amounts of raw fish and Wendigo vocal sacs? So the ability to have another home in a new section of the map without having to buy an additional campsite is a pretty good deal and will make exploring Shenandoah a lot more fun.
