In an interview with From Software director Hidetaka Miyazaki, he admitted that not only is he not good at video games, but that he uses every possible advantage when playing "The Elden Ring" (yes, this includes the mimic tier). Miyazaki concluded by saying that his journey with "The Lands Between" is coming to an end, but that does not discourage him from further adaptations, whether for television or film.

"There is no reason to rule out new interpretations or film adaptations of 'The Elden Ring. But I don't believe either myself or From Software has the knowledge or ability to produce something in a different medium." So we need a strong partner. We will have to build a lot of trust and agreement on whatever it is we are trying to accomplish.

There has been speculation about who, if anyone, could accomplish such a large task. And while the writing is still on the wall, George RR Martin has sent a rather cryptic message suggesting a future Elden Ring film adaptation.

"Regarding the rumors of a feature film or TV series about the Elden Ring, ...... I have nothing to say," Martin wrote on his blog. 'I know nothing. I know nothing and you have not heard a peep from me. What rumors?"

Martin, best known for Game of Thrones, also helped From Software write the lore for The Elden Ring. The rest of his blog post was actually about an award he received for writing on this game. He wrote, "For this project, I was in charge of the world-building, and Eitaka Miyazaki and his team did all the rest of the work. We were presented with a trophy. However, I was not present at the award ceremony, and in any case, only one trophy was available. That trophy was taken back to Japan.

The Elden Ring has never been made into a movie or TV show, but there have been countless comics, not all of them great, but it is always cool to see different interpretations of one of From Software's most expansive stories.

That said, it's still up for debate what to cover in a film or TV adaptation." One player said in a Reddit thread, "Even if you show small elements like 'Tarnished' that complete Stormvale, there's not much of an actual plot." First of all, you have to decide what "Tarnished" will look like and how it will act. But the plot of Stormvale minus the action is: meet Margit, meet Gostok, meet Neferi, meet Roger, meet Godric."

The story of the Elden Ring is also known to be shrouded in mystery. Apart from a few key pieces of information, players are kept in the dark. Most of the story is told through NPC quests and descriptions of notes and items found around the world. This enigmatic narrative is part of the charm, and explaining everything so obviously in a TV show or movie is incompatible with what players have experienced so far.

However, if the "Elden Ring: Shadow of the Elder Tree" DLC is From Software's final story in this world, then future projects that expand on everything already experienced could be a cool way to extend the story.
