Starting Wednesday, July 24, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be available on Microsoft's Game Pass service (including PC Game Pass). This is the second game from Activision Blizzard since Diablo 4 earlier this year. It is a complete game that includes a single-player campaign, multiplayer modes, and a cooperative PvE zombie mode, with a shooter flavor extracted for Modern Warfare 3.
We knew that this year's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 would be coming to Game Pass soon, but the addition of Modern Warfare 3 to Game Pass was just announced on the Xbox website earlier today.
The Game Pass was in the news this month after a $2 price increase was announced in September for the PC version and a revamped structure for console players. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission immediately denounced this as a degraded and more expensive version of the same service, to which Microsoft responded with relatively eloquent drivel.
Modern Warfare 3 was quite poorly received, so it's not so surprising as a relatively stealthy letdown; 43% In a review for PC Gamer, writer Morgan Park neither justified himself nor said that it was made too quickly He did little to dispel the impression that it was made too quickly, calling it a “non-essential” game that should probably be skipped.
“It's clear that this disjointed, hazy vision of Modern Warfare 3 is not the product of years of careful planning. It was the product of tradition and the arrogance of a management team that manipulated the tireless “Call of Duty” creators who work together year after year to make the impossible possible,” Morgan said.
The time that has passed since its release has done little to diminish the impression that Modern Warfare 3 was a game created to maintain a never-ending cycle of brand tie-ins. King Kong, Godzilla, Nicki Minaj, Warhammer 40,000, and soon Cheech and Chong, and now Godzilla again.
But still, if you already have a game pass and have the time, a “Call of Duty” campaign is always a gorgeous production to enjoy for a while.
