One of the latest strange habits players are discovering in "Fallout": there seems to be a strange addiction to dog food in London. So far there is no explanation for this, so a modder decided to create a mod that would remove this addiction permanently on their own.

Called "Dog Food Addiction Remover," the mod was added earlier this week by modder Avislone." I was rather surprised when I looked down to find myself, of all people, addicted to dog food. "I've reduced my dog food addiction probability to zero so that I don't become addicted to a fairly common food. As the comments say, it is debatable whether this is worthy of legend.

Team FOLON's Discord shows that the effects of dog food addiction are far-reaching. Despite the efforts of several players, no one has been able to figure out if this affliction is a choice to preserve the lore or just a funny disease. There is one theory as to why it tastes so good, but it also contains spoilers about what is going on at the Priladog dog food factory.

Breaking into the factory is an optional event, but if you succeed in opening the gate, you will be able to explore every corner. If you can convince the factory boss to give the workers what they want, you can snoop around in the basement. There you will learn a nasty truth - the secret ingredient in the mystery meat of the dog food is actually human flesh.

Cannibalism is generally frowned upon in Fallout (shockingly so), and in Fallout 3 you can talk to some of the families about it and they will tell you that as far as cannibals are concerned, it's up to you to find them. Most of the time, cannibals are ostracized or beaten by other civilians; in Fallout 76, eating a human might turn you into a Wendigo.

So, not a huge problem, but understandable if you want to get rid of the addiction altogether.

However, it should be noted that mod creator Avislone doesn't actually know what will happen if you use this mod while affected by the addiction: "I don't know what will happen if you already have dog food addiction when you install this. I don't think it will break anything, but to be on the safe side, I would recommend using 'sober' (FOLON version of addiction) to get rid of the addiction first. If you want to do this quickly, press the ~ key, type "player.add item 000459C5 1" (without quotes) and press enter. This should install this mod. Or live dangerously, don't do that.
