QuakeCon opened yesterday and I was surprised and pleased to see a familiar name pop up repeatedly in the Bethesda stream. It wasn't Todd Howard; it wasn't Marty Stratton. Not Doom Guy, not John Starfield, not Beth Esda (the 106-year-old owner of Bethesda Game Studios). [Kinggath is a modder I strongly associate with Fallout 4, and as far as I know, he invented Fallout 4. Kinggath's Sim Settlements and Sim Settlements 2 mods are It is so integral to Fallout 4 that without it, the game might not exist. I won't go into a 10-paragraph sales pitch on why you shouldn't play Fallout 4 without Sim Settlements 2 because I've already explained it

The first Kinggath project we saw yesterday was for Skyrim, an expansion to the disappointing vanilla Bard's College. Yes, Bethesda has set up a bard's college in Skyrim, with lots of quests for it. Yes, it is either madness or cruelty. It's like the janitorial truck driver who plays ice cream parlor music just to see the disappointed faces of children who have eagerly clutched a few dollars and run out the door.
That unforgivable mistake will finally be righted; the Bard's College expansion will add a "major" storyline for the music faction.
"Play your instrument on the open road, and the mountains will come alive. Play for an audience to earn coins or use your instrument to inspire your allies in battle.Of course, you are not the only bard in Skyrim. You can "play word games with other bards, learning insults and retorts, earning coins and fame. There are also "new types of weapons that connect shouts together to form destructive chants," and you can create ballads to sing your exploits to the world.Bard's College Expansion is not free; it requires 1,000 "Creation Credits" and costs $10 on Steam where it will cost $10. If you are looking for a free Kinggath joint, you need to fire up Starfield and shut it down immediately, as this Creation has not yet been released. This is Kinggath's "Doom-inspired mini-quest" and you can get a glimpse of some of them below. Doom Guy armor: check. Iconic shotgun? Check. A space station that seems to be orbiting Hell: check. No release date for "At Hell's Gate" has been set yet, but we'll update when we do.
