Season 7 of Apex Legends, coming next week, will add new heroes, maps, and player-run community clubs to the battle royale. But the most exciting new element, as shown in the new launch trailer, is a nimble little bike that can be kitbashed into tanks. [Apex Legends will feature the Trident, a three-person hover baby carriage, as its first vehicle for moving around Olympus with speed (and style). Although unarmed, it appears to be able to carry any gadget of your choice on its spacious hull, including Rampart's high-powered machine gun turret.

Of course, any character's deployable gadgets can be placed on top for a variety of utility. If you need cover while driving through a hot zone, equip the Shield of Gibraltar. Let's drop the Shield of Gibraltar on the hood. Missile storm? Mount Watson's Ultimate on the roof. If you want to choke out your opponents, load a few Caustic gas canisters on the hood and suffocate the other players with exhaust fumes. Inefficient, but fun.

The only pity is that you can't run over people with it. Also, if the hull is attacked, the entire crew takes a certain amount of damage, but the trident itself is invincible, making it vulnerable to EMP attacks and bottomless swamps.

Of course, the trailer also details the new map. Unlike the previous maps "Kings Canyon" and "World's Edge," "Olympus" is a larger, more open flying arena and does not feature large blocky mountains.

Design Director Jason McCord told USGamer, "We didn't want to make an island with just mountains. But when we saw Olympus, we weren't going to put mountains in it."

"We wanted to make it look like an island.

In the same interview, McCord noted that King's Canyon will not appear in Season 7 at all; Apex's debut map will be kept for the time being, rather than being discontinued. If it is ever resurrected, he believes it will look a little different and perhaps show off the added land.

Finally, specific details regarding the abilities of the new hero, Horizon, were revealed. Her passive allows her to maintain momentum when landing from a great height, and her active ability launches both friend and foe into the air. Rounding out the set is a black hole that draws enemies in and renders them immobile, much like Zarya in Overwatch.

Apex Legends Season 7: Ascension kicks off next Wednesday, November 4.
