Some players of last week's closed beta may be wondering whether to try this weekend's open beta of Marvel's Avengers after reports that the technical aspects of the game were not up to snuff. With the chance to try the game before its official release in a few weeks, Crystal Dynamics was quick to respond to the feedback and released a new beta patch.

Patch 26.1 fixes the most common issues for PC players, including overall lag, erratic performance, and crashes on older systems. And if, like me, the game's motion blur and screen shaking make you feel like you're on the world's smallest roller coaster, rest assured that this patch also provides options to further reduce both effects.
