Warhorse Studios' 2018 release Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of the best RPGs in years, but it wasn't at its best when it launched. It was "plagued by bugs," "feels like it's about to fall apart," and "doesn't run very well" even on relatively high-end PCs, we said in our review.
Despite this, we gave it a score of 84/100 in our review, calling it "a seriously satisfying role-playing experience set in a rich, reactive world." This is especially commendable given the technical and performance problems it suffered.
If you've been holding off on playing because you didn't want to endure the headache, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to see how far the game has come with two years of patches and DLC Warhorse recently announced that Kingdom Come: Deliverance" has sold over 3 million units, and to celebrate, the company offered a free play weekend on Steam.
While a weekend probably won't be enough time to play through the entire game, it should give you a good enough taste to know if you want to fully commit to this game. If so, this is not a bad time to give it a play: half price ($15/£12.50/£15) for Kingdom Come: Deliverance on Steam, or all the additions to the base game, including Kingdom Come: Also Kingdom Come: Deliverance Collection Bundle, which includes DLC and bonus content, for 65% off.
