The classic helicopter sim "Comanche" is coming back next week, following in the footsteps of "Comanche 4," a more action-oriented sim from the 90s. The multiplayer-focused aerial shooter set in the near future will be available via Steam on March 12.
Comanche's single-player mode has been added "by popular demand" and will include a number of evolved missions, but the real heart of this new Comanche seems to be the team-based multiplayer dogfights.
Pilots can choose their choppers from Comanche and drone configurations and blast away at enemies in objective-based and team deathmatch modes THQ Nordic has released some new footage on Twitter.
I much prefer simulators to multiplayer shooters, but Helicopter is cool enough that I wouldn't mind being crushed by a teenage streamer.
Comanche's early access phase is expected to last about six months. Planned features include flight stick and HOTAS support, as well as additional multiplayer and single-player. When the game launches next week, players will be able to try out two multiplayer modes, one story mission, several maps, helicopters, and drones.
