Harebrained Schemes has posted a job listing for a new game called "The Horror Project." The developer is known for its Shadowrun series of turn-based RPGs and BattleTech, a mech strategy game.
Harebrained Schemes' official employment page lists openings for both a lead game designer and an art director. Clicking on either job posting displays a description of the position as being for an "unannounced horror project."
Many fans under the job postings on Twitter and Facebook have speculated that the project could be an expansion of Battletech, Shadowrun, or a revisit of Necropolis, but the studio has already announced that it is focusing on two entirely new projects The company has already announced that it is focusing on two completely new projects. In a message from the studio last month, co-founder Mitch Gitelman teased two "brand new" projects, but did not give any details. [If this unannounced project is a new IP for Harebrained Schemes, it would be the first time the studio has made a game in the horror genre.
Battletech has not been completely abandoned, and MechWarriors can expect continued support for the series. This is because Battletech is one of the best strategy games on the PC, and it would be a shame for the studio to stop doing it altogether.
Thank you, GameSkinny.
