Buying an expensive game these days is no guarantee that you will be able to take advantage of everything without having to dip your hand into your wallet again, but at least with "Doom Eternal" you can save your pennies. Creative director Hugo Martin confirmed that there are no stores or double payments when it comes to cosmetics.
Doom Eternal allows you to unlock skins to beautify your Doom Slayer, but you can get a lot of skins with XP only. Martin emphasized that the only resources available for unlocking cosmetics are XP, which is not related to the Doom Slayer's murderous prowess.
"Eternal is a $60 game," Martin said on Facebook.
Its predecessor also avoided microtransactions, but id sold some multiplayer DLC. However, this was released for free after the first year, allowing everyone to play with additional guns, maps, and demons. It is always a bad idea to divide the multiplayer community with DLC, so hopefully this time no one will be left behind.
Doom Eternal is scheduled for release on March 20.
