Rust is making Chinese New Year a big deal. Why do we need a calendar when we have games?
Not a very good disguise. It is an ornate, faintly frightening mask that will only fool the most intoxicated of Rust's players into believing that they are the animal of the year. This mask can be obtained at the market, along with other returned items such as dragon masks and door knockers.
Since loud music is essential to celebrating the New Year, you can set off fireworks, firecrackers, or make a terrible noise with the newly added deployable instruments; Rust introduced instruments in last year's DLC pack, and you can make a nice tune simply by banging or shooting a gong.
It wouldn't be Rust without a killer attack trying to stop you from making nice music and watching fireworks, although the festivities inevitably turn into a murder. Be safe.
The Lunar New Year update will begin today at 7:00 p.m. Japan time / 11:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
