Disintegration is a sci-fi FPS in development by V1 interactive, a studio founded a few years ago by Halo co-creator Marcus Lett and SOCOM director Mike Gutman. A gameplay trailer released a few months later reveals more of the action, including "gravity cycles," AI-controlled armies, a world messed up by climate change and war, and people implanting their brains into robot bodies. Looking forward to!
If you're interested in the game, your chance to get in on it is coming soon; V1 announced today that it will hold two closed beta sessions later this month, the first on January 28 and the second on January 29, both at 8am PT/11:59am ET (8pm PT 11:59 a.m. PT/2:59 a.m. ET the next day).
Two multiplayer modes will be available for this test: "recapture," in which one team attempts to transport a payload and the other team defends it, and "suppression," in which the capture points are fought over. In both modes, AI-controlled "ground crews" are given priority, and the crews must be protected and managed in order to win. The beta test will focus primarily on ensuring stability and gathering feedback from players in preparation for the launch, which is scheduled for later this year.
Registration for the closed beta test session is open at disintegrationgame.com V1 did not say how many people will have access, but the good news is that it doesn't really matter. The open beta will run from January 31 to February 1 with the same modes and crews.
