The next expansion to The Elder Scrolls Online takes players to a familiar place: the city of Markarth in Skyrim. Its implementation in ESO is quite familiar in appearance, although it is ruled by wildlings of the Reach and covered in banners, mammoth tusks, and red paint.

This year's ESO storyline is a tale of war between vampires and werewolves called Dark Heart of Skyrim, and the Markarth update's storyline ties directly into that: a showdown between players and a big, nasty vampire called Radha al-Salan. An old character also makes an appearance: the Verandis Ravenwatch, a vampire who has appeared in previous ESO stories. Beneath the Reach is also a vast cavern filled with glowing fungi and an ancient library.

Markarth The Reach, a new zone in the Markarth DLC, also includes the new solo arena that ESO players have been waiting for Markarth's release date is November 2 on PC and Mac, and ESO Plus members will automatically receive it Markarth's prologue. Quest is available immediately at ESO's Crown Store.

Next week, a new event called Lost Treasures of Skyrim will also begin. Players who participate in Lost Treasures will unlock new collectible rewards, including cosmetics, pets, houses, and new roommates. This will all be done using the Antiquities system from earlier this year.
